Deer Run GC boasts a classic layout – a very playable
and challenging par 71 golf course. Approximately 6300
yards from the black tees, 6146 yards from the whites
and 5040 from the reds - Deer Run GC has maintained the
length of most classic golf courses. Though many modern
courses can be stretched to 7000 yards from the back
tees, too often this emphasize on length comes at the
expense of shot making. One of the problems with the
modern PGA Tour is that it has become a game of long
driving and putting. We still believe in the joy of
playing a variety of shots and the chess-like skill of
course management.
Don’t think that you can’t use your driver at Deer Run
(I use it on every hole except the par 3’s). The layout
rewards accuracy and intelligence – there are many ways
to play these holes. Classic courses emphasize the
relationship between risk and reward – many modern
courses are considered “penal” layouts, meaning that
there are no options and that the ball has to be hit to
certain spots only. We believe that there are many ways
to play golf: left-to-right, right-to-left, high ball
flight, low ball flight, etc and that a good layout can
provide a fun challenge to different styles.
But even an enjoyable course can be ruined by slow play.
So we have full-time starters and rangers to insure a
proper pace of play. We also have beverage carts and a
call-box on the ninth tee for more substantial food to
be picked up at the clubhouse (after you’ve hit your tee
shot on # 10).
We have a nice practice facility: a driving range with
target greens at 100, 150, and 200 yards, two putting
greens, and green side and fairway bunkers.

Reservations
Book your tee-time for anytime at anytime (as long
as it’s available). We do not have a time
restriction on tee-time reservations. No more
sweating that problem of making a tee-time way in
advance (a visiting father-in-law, client, sales
manager, etc). Book online or give us a call and make a date.
But take advantage of this policy – prime times fill
up fast.
